Medical Office Billing Representative

Bills insurance company or patient.
Posts payments to accounts.
Ensures that payment has been received according to contract.
Adjusts account balances and notes contract allowances, insurance write-offs, and courtesy discounts.
Balances deposits for assigned accounts.
Reviews all insurance information to maintain current billing knowledge and documents and reports any discrepancies or declinations to supervisor.
Maintains computer and paper departmental files and logs.
Answers patient and third party payer representative inquiries regarding accounts and completes documentation of all activity on each account.
One year related experience or training.
Frequent physical demands include: Sitting , Walking Occasional physical demands include: Standing , Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders) , Carry objects , Push/Pull , Twisting , Bending , Reaching forward , Reaching overhead , Squat/kneel/crawl , Pinching/fine motor activities Continuous physical demands include: Wrist position deviation , Keyboard use/repetitive motion , Talk or Hear Lifting Floor to Waist 15 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 10 lbs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
